New Dimensions in Computers and Composition Studies has been conceived by Gail Hawisher and Cynthia Selfe as a series devoted to publishing groundbreaking scholarship on the teaching, practice, and theorizing of new media and computer-based composition.
We invite interested scholars to submit their manuscripts to this new Hampton Press series for consideration. Included below are guidelines for writing a prospectus for the series. The prospectus should include the following:
Introduction, Overview, and Rationale
Briefly describe the book-no more than two pages.
Comparison to Existing Publications/Market Competition
Consider books that have taken on similar projects. You need to show how your book will be both similar and different from the competition .
Target Audience(s)
Which audiences will your book attract? For whom is it written?
Table of Contents and Chapter Description
Brief description of each chapter.
Works Cited
Works you've cited in your prospectus.
Estimate of Length
How many manuscript pages?
Expected Completion Date
When can we expect to review the full, revised manuscript?
Curriculum Vitae
Your educational and professional background.
Sample Chapters
Please include two sample chapters from your project.
Possible Reviewers for Final Manuscript
